Callory Desk

Frequently asked questions

Will I lose my phone number?

No. Nothing is ported and you keep your existing carrier. You just forward the calls you don't answer to your Callory Desk number — the same way you'd forward to voicemail.

How much does an answering service cost?

$397/month for the full receptionist — phone, website, and contact form, all in one dashboard — with 500 minutes of call time included (then $0.35/minute), plus a one-time $600 setup. If you only want the website widget for now, that's $97/month on its own. See the full breakdown on our pricing page — no contract, cancel anytime.

Does the AI ever quote a price to my customers?

Never. It's a hard rule, not a guideline — it doesn't give price ranges, appointment times, or warranty terms. If a caller asks, it takes their details and tells them you'll call back with an exact figure.

How fast do I find out about a new lead?

Under a minute from when the call ends. The details land in your inbox — name, number, job type, and how urgent it is — while you'd still be looking for a pen.

What if I want to turn it off?

Stop forwarding your calls to your Callory Desk number and you're back to normal in under 30 seconds. Nothing to cancel or uninstall.

Does it sound robotic?

No — it's a warm, natural-sounding voice that holds a real back-and-forth conversation. It won't bring up that it's an AI unless a caller asks directly, and it always answers honestly if they do.

What happens if your system has an outage?

Calls degrade gracefully instead of disappearing. If the voice system can't be reached, the call rolls to a fallback that takes a message so nothing gets lost.

Can it text me instead of emailing?

Not yet — leads currently arrive by email. Text and WhatsApp alerts are on the way.

Can I change what it says or how it handles things?

Yes — send us custom instructions anytime and we'll update it, whether that's how it greets callers, what it asks about, or how it handles a specific situation. No rebuild, no new version to wait for.

Can I choose a different voice?

Yes — if the default voice isn't the right fit for your business, tell us and we'll swap it for one that is.

Does it only cover my phone, or my website and contact form too?

All three. The same receptionist answers missed calls, chats with website visitors, and turns contact-form submissions into a real conversation instead of a "we'll be in touch." Every call, chat, and form submission lands in one dashboard — nothing split across separate tools.

Can it call my past customers?

Yes — for seasonal pushes like post-storm inspections or pre-season tune-ups, it can batch-call your past-customer list and capture interest the same way it handles inbound calls, with voicemail hits queued for an automatic callback. You still decide who's on the list and when a campaign goes out — and calling your own past customers still carries the usual rules around consent and do-not-call lists, same as if you made the calls yourself.
